Mission & Goals

Mission
The Molecular Therapeutics Initiative assists and accelerates investigator-initiated drug discovery & development projects at UTMB. Its internal and external advisory panels provide critical guidance and facilitate access to state-of-the-art resources to streamline efforts to discover novel therapeutic agents and accelerate their transition into clinical trials.

Goals
This Initiative will:

• help researchers develop new, successful, and funded therapeutic programs at UTMB.
• sponsor educational seminars, workshops, and courses on innovative approaches to drug discovery & development.
• develop critical campus resources for drug discovery and development.
• facilitate rapid access to state-of-the-art resources.
