Faculty Positions In Biomedical Informatics
The Institute for Translational Sciences (ITS) at the University of Texas Medical Branch (UTMB) is seeking outstanding applicants for multiple new biomedical informatics positions. These are tenure-track positions at the Assistant or Associate Professor level. Candidates should have appropriate doctoral level training with the ability to develop an extramurally funded program in developing methods or theory on systems biology applications to clinical medicine, including proteomics, genomics or metabolomics data using classification methods, knowledge representation or data mining. The position will have a joint appointment to the newly formed UTMB-UT Houston Joint Center for Personalized Health Informatics. The successful applicants will be jointly appointed in a clinical department at a rank and salary commensurate with experience.
Successful applicants will enjoy an exceptionally collegial and interdisciplinary collaborative environment. The ITS is the center for the newly funded UTMB CTSA effort. Additional opportunities for interactions with investigators in centers of scientific excellence in infectious diseases, structural biology, aging and environmental health. Moreover, access to extensive computational resources are available at UTMB. UTMB is a member of the Houston/Galveston W.M. Keck Center for Interdisciplinary Bioscience Training and the Gulf Coast Consortium for Bioinformatics.
