Multidisciplinary Translational Teams

Multidisciplinary Translational Teams (MTT) are the new paradigm for research. The ITS is proactively forming MTTs  in concert with new opportunities and UTMB’ strategic goals for research.  Our active MTTs are described in the links below.  More MTTs will be formed as these are successful.

MTTs will be selected on a number of criteria, including:

MTTs should focus on patient oriented research related to UTMB strategic initiatives (aging, environmental health, burns, airway inflammation, etc.)

They should have committed, productive and collaborative PIs.

There should be need for ICTSA key functions and explicit use of UTMB Translational Technologies

MTTs need to incorporate involvement of trainees, with K and other type of training awards as explicit goals

MTTs will develop specific milestones for team progress, including plan(s) for new research funding.  These milestones will be evaluated by the evaluation team and periodically approved by the executive committee.

For investigators desiring to participate in translational research. You can phone us at x72872 (CTSA) or email us at CTSA@utmb.edu.
